Germany made Farmer Dad reconsider his politics this election

It was Election Day in America yesterday. We had a couple of elections in my state. One for governor and one for senator. The governor race had a Republican and a Democrat, and the senate race had a Republican and an independent (not affiliated with either party) but definitely leaned more liberal. And for the first time in my dad's life, he did not vote for the Republicans. I talked to my dad because I came home to vote (I voted for the Democrat and Independent), and while he didn't vote for
