How much debt does the average German have?

Hey everyone! I recently watched a YouTube video about how much debt Americans have, and I was honestly shocked. People casually talking about having $50k, $200k, even $900k in debt : car loans, student loans, mortgages, credit cards, all stacked on top of each other. The numbers were insane. It made me really curious: how much debt does the average German typically have? And what kind of debts? It feels like debt culture over there is on a completely different level.

I have been trading for about 9 yrs as a part time thing and INTC has been incredible. Almost 11,000% in under a year lol INTC Dec 12, 2026 $70 calls purchased July 16, 2025. I started with 100 contracts but have scaled out since Fall 2025 - sold 9 this week. I’ll hold these through the Fall.

A charming town to visit if you get the chance. It can be a bit touristy, especially in the center, but if you’re feeling adventurous, you can escape the crowds and explore nearby villages like Ladenburg (just 15 minutes away) or Schriesheim if you’re up for a bit of forest hiking. You’ll find castles, medieval vibes, and ruins along the way. A great destination for a 2–3 day trip.
