I think if the Fed were actually going to reduce the money supply, then it would be prudent to reduce leverage and be cautious. But since Warsh, Powell, and pretty much everyone working for the Fed since 2008 has made it clear that they don't ever want to reduce the money supply, just maybe possibly someday eventually slow its rate of growth, then I think "not fighting the Fed" has come to mean back up the truck everyday always. Here's an automotive bear case I've been thinking about. The US has effectively removed Chinese automakers from the competitive equation. BYD, Geely, XPeng and other Chinese manufacturers are expanding internationally, but an American consumer generally can't walk into a dealership and compare one directly with a GM, Ford, Tesla, Hyundai or Toyota.
