Iran-US Oil 0DTE opening strategy with 83% win rate

tldr: Oil futures down premarket = upwards opening move for SPX, take gains by trading 0DTE options in the first 30 minutes.  Okay so to preface, the strategy is non-traditional in the sense that most ORB strategies, reasonably so, are about observing the opening range and then waiting for the stock to break out of the range. Then depending on the direction of the move, most traders decide which way to trade. However with the Iran-US situation lately I have found some interesting patterns, in

Option trading cost me 173 k in fees last year. Is there a bigger degenerate than I ?

Just looked at my year end fee statement and I gave Scotia bank 163k to trade option. However I’ve been documenting there practices and they double charge options commissions. They take commission at the time of the trade then overnight they take the commissions again. I noticed this as one day I was fully invested and the next day I my account was negative $1500. This happened on a regular basis

This is my down payment for a house

I lived at home until I saved $25k. Then went all on the the dip last July hoping it would make me some quick bucks. I still buy some here and there to bring my average down but now I think I may be in too deep.

Last Gamble Before Cashing Out… SPX Paid Me 19k

After a loss the previous day, I planned to withdraw but decided to take one final trade on a gut feeling that the market would pull back following the rally from yesterday and sincemorning was already up .75%. I entered SPX put options early in the morning with an initial position of 10 contracts and continued adding more positions, pretty much going alllllll innnnnn!!!!. The trade played out as expected, SPX went down and made me almost 20k. Had to get out of the contract because didnt wanted

Bought these last week during the peak. I managed to flip 30 contracts for a profit let these ride and lost more than I made. What is the likelihood that all the oil in the middle east gets through the straight tonight?

SaaSpocalypse is now My Collapse - Help!!

I made a bet on a SAAS company and invested a huge amount back in Aug. I had a couple chances of getting out but kept thinking it’ll go up (and the CEO was buying too). With all the AI fears, It’s now down more than 50% and I don’t know what to do. Should I stay the course or just sell and take the loss. This is hard to process !!

Part 2: I now spent $13,000/year on Substack newsletters so you don't have to. Longer time horizons, more authors, better methodology.

A few weeks ago I posted about tracking 23 paid Substack newsletters to see which ones actually make money. That post got 7.4k upvotes and a lot of great feedback here. The three biggest criticisms: 1. **”Mixing apples and oranges."** Some of those authors are macro/ETF traders, not stock pickers. Ranking them alongside individual stock pickers isn't fair. 2. **"30 and 60 days is too short."** Many of these authors have 6–12 month theses. Need longer time horizons. 3. **"23 isn't enough."** The
